We lotion her every night, its her routine since we don't bathe every night. We just use baby aveeno, unscented. Our pedi said that unscented is better and she really likes it!
Our pedi said we could use lotion, however, she recommended CREAM instead of lotion. She said the #1 ingredient in lotion is water and can sometimes dry out skin. we have been using it since she was a couple of weeks old, no one told us otherwise
our pedi said that we could use lotion, but it wouldn't do any good and that he'd still be all peely and old man looking. We used it after every bath from the beginning, just since it was bitterly cold. (and it gave me the illusion i was helping...lol). We've just kept up with it after bath time
I was also told not to use lotion because it can clog pores or some crap. I totally use it now. Like PPs said... if they don't have a reaction... what's the big deal? I'm the Mom .... right?
Our pedi said it was fine especially for the dry patches they get. Just look for ones that are natural or without alcohol and preferably unscented. I tried Method, but it seemed to break him out. I now use Burts bees and he seems to like it and it absorbs nicely.

Pediatrician said to use it whenever. ?I guess they used to PABA in it and that is why they suggested not using it until they were 6 months but they don't put that in baby lotion anymore.
Re: When is it ok to use lotion?
DH got mad at me for using it since we brought he home, bc the nurse said a baby doesn't need it.?
But I like to bath her before bed, and rub lotion on before the bottle. So I'm sure I am doing it all wrong, but she enjoys it.?
There is no such thing as wrong! If they like it, & don't have a reaction...it's fine. I started using lotion as soon as he could have baths.
