Nook or Kindle?

DH told me that he wanted to get one of them for Valentine's Day!  Which should I get?

I've heard that the Kindle is faster, lighter, and thinner with better battery life, but the Nook can check books out from the library and has a touch screen at the bottom instead of the keyboard.

  • Oops, sorry about the double post!  It won't let me delete it.

  • Definitely the Kindle, it's the 2nd generation and they've had time to work out the bugs.  My husband was skeptical but he now LOVES it.  Reviews of the Nook weren't all that flattering.  In fact, several newspapers said to avoid it for now.

  • Got my dad the kindle- he loves it! I'm actually looking for a case for it now.
  • Love my kindle and they have a lot of free books to download.  I just wish they had a lending library like Nook
  • I have a Kindle and love it! Amazon has it's own network and can download from just about anywhere. Nook has to connect to a wireless network.
  • DH and I each have a Kindle and LOVE them.  If one of us buys a book, the other can read it any time.  I got mine for Christmas, have read 5-6 books and have only had to charge it once!  Highly recommend it!
  • iPad! You'll be able to do so much more with it in addition to reading books.
