3rd Trimester

Question. I already called my doc.

Okay, I'm just waiting to hear back from the doctor but I thought in the meantime I'd see what you ladies think.

For the past 4ish hours I've been having some pretty strange discomfort (wouldn't go so far as to call it pain) in my lower uterus area. It is a feeling like my vagina is being pushed down on, with occasional pinches and feeling like I'm going to pee if I don't sit down immediately. This is also accompanied by Braxton Hicks and very dull lower back pain.

I don't want to go in to L&D for nothing though, I have a $150 copay each time I go in. What do you ladies think?

  • Have you tried laying down and resting?

  • Did Simon drop? I went to the doctors on Monday with similar symptoms and he told me LO dropped and is putting pressure on my pelvis and my bladder.

  • I posted in a thread about the same pain.  If I remember correctly I think I wrote (excuse my crudeness) that it feels like someone took a fish hook with fishing line and hooked it through my pee hole and threaded the line up into my vagina and gave the line to the LO who yanks on it every now and then.  It's been like this off and on since Monday night.  It's much better today.

Is that how your pain feels or is it something else?

  • dr's will probably tell you to go to l&d...  Try laying down and drinking a lot of water (staying hydrated). If you go to hospital that's what they'll do for you anyway. Unless of course it's real labor (which I doubt)..In which case, don't worry about your co-pay cuz you're having a baby!!

He still seems pretty high up. Maybe he's on his way down.

I kind of doubt it too, in a "it's too good to be true" kind of way. I don't want to spend an afternoon out of work and a copay just to lay down and drink water, KWIM?

Ally seems like she's still pretty high up, too, but the doctor says I'm really short so she's always gonna be in my ribs. =( Good luck and let us know what happens.

  • I had something similar go on today and working on the same floor as L&D, I walked down and she said that since he dropped it could be causing some RLP but I didn't just feel the pain in my sides, I felt it in my lower abdomen and my back. She told me that walking and staying hydrated was good and to lay down and relax when I got the chance. A warm bath may also help.. if all those things don't help at all then go in and have them check you.

I tried walking, drinking water and finally after I layed down the pain went away.

  • I get the pee feeling all the time. It actually is LO pushing against your bladder. I think you're ok, but try to drink lots of water and not move around more than you have to!

  • Honestly, this sounds like how I've been feeling on a daily basis for the past couple of weeks.
