What's the deal with the ash? In the finale, The Man In Black (TMIB) said he was gonna find a "loophole", then Ilana found a gap in the ash around Jacob's cabin... do you think the loophole refers to a hole in the circle of ash?
I don't even remember this! I just assumed the loophole was convincing Ben to do it for him.

I think the loophole is the island skipping through time. This is from my LOST season finale post last May:
"I think the Loophole that the enemy found was the island skippingthrough time. This allowed Locke to tell Richard that he was theleader. Additionally, it allowed the enemy to appear as ChristianShepard and tell Locke that he must die. When Locke returns, the enemytakes over his body, convinces Ben to kill Jacob, and waaaa laaaa- thedeed is done."
ETA: The enemy also found away to take over the body of someone "inside" the crew... like Locke. Ben killed Locke and Locke did a good job of convincing Ben that he needed to make it up to him. He also acted as Smokey and appeared as Alex to scare Ben into listening to "everything Locke says"
Another thing is that Jacob refused to be seen by more than one person. He knew that the enemy could take over any form but could NOT kill him. He needed someone else to do it for him. By going in with Ben, he was able to talk Ben into doing it for him.

What's up with Jacobs cabin? Why did they burn it in last seasons finale? and why was stuf flying around when Ben brought Locke there? Wher was making that happen?

Mrs jenni... what's it like to be completely brilliant?!! I would have never thought of that.

Am I making any sense??
Yes you are! ?Man, I wish all of us could watch the show together - it would be a blast! Although, I can barely stay awake for it....?

I believe Penny was conceived off-island because isn't that why Whidmore was being banished from the island? For getting a woman off-island pregnant?
I always thought Daniel was the reason, but you've got to be right on that one! Thanks
The whole thing with Walt has always fascinated me. I have always waited to see how things were going to turn out, I hope they finish his story. I don't know if they will get someone else to play him or just use him as himself because they already did that in LA. Remember when Locke went to talk to him? He was huge!
DH and I were talking about all the sad things that would happen if they never reached the island. Mainly about Jin and Sun's relationship and pregnancy and Rose's cancer. That's a sad thought.
I agree with you about Sayid now being Jacob. So Jacob actually takes OVER a body, whereas the smoke monster can just appear as anyone dead (Christian, Locke, etc)?
Interesting! Hmmmm Jacks dad too!
This confuses me though because why would the Nemisis have more power than Jacob? Maybe Jacob can appear as anyone dead too? I'm really thinking this whole thing goes back to good vs. evil. Example: Jacob in white, Nemisis in Black. Nemisis can't kill Jacob himself.
It is good VS evil for sure!
I think most of this season will be a lot of info about Jacob and his Nemesis. Jacob JUST died, but the Nemsis may have been killed along time ago and therefore is able to take over any body that is on the island.
Perhaps, Jacob wanted to be part of the mix of the Oceanic crew and therefore he forced the Temple others to KILL Sayid in order for Jacob to take over his body.
So it's quite possible that Jacob CAN take over any body he wants, he just wanted Sayid.
I agree with pretty much everyone that Jacob is Sayid. I thought Jacob didn't need a dead body to go in to, like "Flocke" did. (Love the Flocke thing by the way). I do also agree with the good vs. evil thing. That's why it's Jacob in white and bad guy in black and it goes a long with all the other themes of the show they had going on the last few seasons. These are a few things that still confuse me:
-I agree, what do they do with the Walt story?
-Who is Ilana and how is she Jacob's bodyguard? Is that when Jacob came to see her in the hospital and said that he needed her help?
-Something is going to happen with Sawyer and Juliet. I don't think her character is returning to the show, but I don't think they'll let the idea of her die either.
-Why has this huge temple been here and none of the survivors seen it before? Unless Jacob can somehow make it invisible or something. But I think he uses the temple water to stay the same.....just like Richard.
-Why does the foot of the blown up staute still only have 4 toes?!?! Doesn't that bother anyone else?
Have to turn off brain now. It's completely overloaded. BTW- I'm due the middle to end of May and I'm really hoping I'm not giving birth during the finale. I've waited 6 years for this! Excellent posting Mrs.Jenni!

Yes... any DEAD body. Sorry That's why they killed Sayid.
Just read this post and my brain is officially mush! So many things I hadn't thought of!
And seriously- where the eff is Claire?!
Yes, can we talk about this a little bit? Is she off the show?(she wasn't on at all last season, right?) Last we saw her she was walking off with Jacks dad aka black smoke man.

And what women would just LEAVE her son? Something is up.?
is it really good vs. evil, or maybe fate vs. free will?
My friend and I had a big discussion with DH about it as well...Nemesis being in black maybe is leading us all to believe that he's evil - when really he represents free will. He wants to get off the island, whereas Jacob is insisting that it was John's destiny to be on the island, lead the others, etc.
The temple has always been there but we never got to see it.
Richard took Ben in through that same wall to heal him of his wounds when Sawyer and Kate brought him to the others.
Way back when they were on the neighbor island in cages, they took the captured survivors to the Temple. Which would be why the stewardess was there and recognized them.

It's a thought but someone (I think mopsy) made a good point of the foreshadowing when Locke and Walt were playing backgammmon. What did you say in the other post mopsy(sp?)?
OOOOO Jacob being Syaid? I didn't even think of that!!!
I thought about that too, but just couldn't bring myself to accept that Sayid was really dead. I loved his character and was crossing my fingers that he really came back to life. Although Jacob impersonating Sayid would be mildly interesting.
totally this. i was going to be very upset without sayid AND juliet, ugh.
also, here is a theory i have; i think christian may have been the smoke monster guy for awhile bc how else was jacks dad alive the whole time?
I don't have an exact explanation for it but he is the one who sent locke back to get everyone.
AHHH so confusing. i am also so dumb i didnt even think it was a parallel universe, i was just like hmmm maybe they are showing us what would have happened. who knows!

remember when richard did this he told kate that if he did this then something would never be the same, almost like it was some sort of warning?

I think this goes back to the "Walt is special" thing. It has to be something that they address this season. I hope.
