nuk nipples? or nipples for avent bottles?

I have been using avent bottles for the new baby and they dont seem to be working. I loved them for my 18 month old. anyone know if other nipples fit on them? or have any suggestions as to what bottles to use with the nuk nipples? the nuk nipples seem to be getting good reviews for the issues that my baby is having- milk coming out of her mouth during feeding, gasping, etc so I think I need to switch from the avent. just looking to see if nuk would fit on avent, and if not, any suggestions to either keep with the avent bottle and find a different nipple or try the nuk nipple and find a different bottle. hope this makes sense- slightly sleep deprived and at my wits end. any suggestions???

Re: nuk nipples? or nipples for avent bottles?

  • OK, I just tried it out because I have both bottles. The nuk nipples fit in the white ring for the avent bottles, but I'm not sure if it would be completely leak proof. They're a tiny bit smaller. FWIW, I'm not a fan of the NUK bottles. The hole in the nipple is on the top side, rather than the tip, and it was super hard for LO to get the formula out.

  • I use the playtex dropins but thought I'd try out NUK because that is the pacifier that LO uses.  I HATED the NUK nipples.  He constantly swallowed gas and after only one day of using the bottles he had gas so bad that he screamed for HOURS.  He was in so much pain.  I use the nuk bottles to shake up formula and pour it into the drop-ins.  That is all they are good for, IMO.
