I'm loving this stroller, especially with Goldie's great review. But, three questions:
1) Would you recommend the DSNG (or maybe the Kolcraft) as well, to start? And then we grow into the City Select?
2) Can you actually jog with the City Select? Or would I still need a separate stroller for jogging?
Goldie, if you're out there: Please tell me what to do! :-) I find the stroller shopping thing crazy overwhelming.
Re: s/o: Baby Jogger City Select (Goldie!)
Sorry, the third question:
3) Will I find myself also wanting a side-by-side, or wishing I had a side-by-side? If so, I assume that would come later, when they're more alert and interested, and thus perhaps I could go with something that's a little less convertible? (Such as? Any suggestions?)
You can get 2 car seat adapters for the city Select- so you wouldn't need a DSNG... the frame for the select folds up very small- similar to the DSNG, so tha'ts all you'd need.
No- you can't jog with the select... it's just made by "Baby Jogger" the company- it's not a jogging stroller (worst company name ever! Since many of their strollers are NOT jogging strollers- so confusing!). You would need a separate stroller for jogging of any sort- this isn't even a light jogger all-terrain type- the front wheels are smaller than that.
I would want a SBS, too... I prefer to have choices I have a Valco Trimode Twin + toddler seat for long trips out at the zoo, walks in the neighborhood, etc.... and i have a Combi SBS umbrella stroller- though I doubt I'll use that much now b/c the Select has taken the place of that in the back of my car
you can always buy a SBS on craigslist and save a lot- so you don't feel bad having many strollers --- that is what i have done- my combi and my valco are from craigslist.
I really love my Select! I'm so glad I got it!
Glad to hear so many good things about the Select from you, Goldie. I bought it but haven't gotten to try it out yet. Super excited!
If you want a SBS, check out some secondhand stores. I didn't want to spend much on a true jogging stroller since we spent so much on the Select. We ended up finding a twin Baby Trend Expedition in pretty decent shape at Goodwill for $30 (with pump and raincover!). Now we have a stroller that DH can jog with. The best part is, I didn't pay an arm and a leg for it so I wont care if DH doesn't take the best care of it. It's also nice to have a crappy stroller that I can use in crappy weather.
