Not morning sickness...but mucus sickness. EW!

So, I have recently come to the conclusion that I am pretty much over morning sickness (yay!), except I am still throwing up. It's because in the morning, there is so much phlegm I gag until I vomit. WTF? Anyone else experiencing a lot of phlegm? I know extra saliva is normal, and I assume this is too, but it's quite unpleasant. Even when I blow my nose in the morning, my gag reflex gets going. Oh, the joys of pregnancy!

  • I did that too. You accidentally swallow it at night, I'm sure, and it drains all day and night. SO GROSS but I had the exact same problem.

  • Pregnancy can make women's mucous membranes overproduce, hence the plegm. I get it too. I got through a LOT of tissues in the morning to try and get rid of it. It's made me vomit or VERY-close-to-vomiting since my m/s stopped.

  • Your body makes extra mucus while pregnant to form the mucus plug.  But it doesn't just produce extra to make the plug, it produces extra everywhere.  I have to wear a Breath Right at night just so I can breath.  I had a cold over a month ago and still haven't gotten rid of the mucusy cough.  Yuck!

  • I use a Vick's vaporizer. It seems to help me  some. I'm always congested and would wake up through the night coughing. Even though I still experience some nausea, I find that I vomit when there's too much phelgm in my throat. It's pretty disgusting.
