Need some hope

I know I am only 3 days past my due date, but I really don't want to be induced and I'm so worried I will be. Pitocin scares me!

For those of you who were late, when did your LO decide to arrive? Or did you end up being induced? My doctor will let me go until 42wks.

I was induced at 40w6d. I really hoped to go naturally but I just got so uncomfortable at the end and my OB didn't want me to go more than a week over so that is how it worked out. I will say I had a great induction experience, so don't be too afraid! I hated the night before the most...the anticipation and knowing your life would never be the same after the next day. Not that you don't already know that, but I had just really hoped to be taken by surprise! I checked into the hospital at 7am, had Pitocin drip started at 7:30, epidural probably around 11:30/12 and my son was born right around 3:30 so the whole experience only took 8 hours for us. GL!!!!

I had my induction set up for 41w exactly, but my water broke at 40w2d.

Me too! 

Although, I did need some pitocin after a while to give the contractions some oomph - don't worry though, it'll all be okay!

I was induced at 41 weeks.  If you're dilated enough, ask if they can try breaking your water first.  I was induced without a drop of pitocin.  I was so scared about the induction, but it went fine.  GL!

At 40w 2d my water broke but I had zero contractions (that I could feel anyway) after 6 hours of that at the hospital they had to start the devil's cocktail (pitocin) because my water had been broken for 8 hours already and my Dr wanted to get the show on the road and so did I!

Induction was not so bad for me, less that 8 hrs.  Good luck I hope it happens on its own.  If not don't worry, either way you end up with a baby.

I was 40wks 5 days when I went into labor naturally. I was in a pretty pissy mood until then. My dr. would let me go 42 weeks if everything was ok. I had a dr. apt the day/night I went into labor and an ultrasound set up for the next day to check her fluid level, but I went into labor instead. Thank GOD! I was going nuts!

Funny ... same thing happened to me! Only, I had zero contractions and they hooked me up to pitocin after only 4 hours ...

I was induced at 41 weeks, 3 days... It really wasn't a big deal at all. However I never progressed past 4 cm after 18 hours, so I ended up with a c/s. GL!

i say schedule the induction- babies tend to be "one with the Murphy's law" and come before the schedule.

I was one week overdue and although my OB practice lets women go 2 weeks over, I begged for an induction and was scheduled to deliver 1.5 weeks overdue... well the little bugger came 2 days before induction! exactly one week overdue....

I was 5 days overdue. And 0 progress at my 40 week check-up. We were planning to schedule the induction at my 41-week check up and she was born the day before that appointment was scheduled. Sometimes, threatening does work.
