I nursed her right after- the second I stopped nursing, she started up again. The car ride home was ok- but once we got out, she started up again. She spent most of that night in her Moby, on my chest, and was pretty conked out. I gave her Tylenol infant drops to help dull the pain a bit. But screaming bloody murder is very normal after shots.
This is exactly how Lincoln was on Monday. I gave him Tylenol and that seemed to really help. I also kept him with me all night and let him sleep on my chest.

My boys never reacted that way. Sure they cried some immediately after but they never screamed all day. Zane didn't even flinch when he got his Hep B shot or when he gets his heel pricks. Every baby is different though.
Just a little tip though...don't wait to give them the Tylenol. Give it to them about an hour before they are supposed to get their shots, that way it's kicked in by the time they've gotten them and it'll help them calm down quicker. This is what I have always done with my boys and it really helps.

Some dr's suggest not to do this- there is a question about whether it decreases the effectiveness of the vaccine, and it really isn't going to do anything to cut down on the actual pain of getting the shot- it'll hurt no matter what. Tylenol when you get home is fine.
