What exactly is the difference (particularly in price) between the Graco and other comparable travel systems and Uppa baby? Is it the addition of the bassinet?
We're a little overwhelmed with all the difference options and products out there. I'd appreciate any and all help.
Re: Difference between Uppa baby and Graco travel systems
The difference is mainly the price and weight The uppa baby is like what $500 and up and the Graco travel systems fun around $150-300.
The more expensive strollers are more modern and weigh less and don't come with a car seat. You have to buy that separate. Graco and other real travel systems come with the car seat.
IMO, I am not about to go spend more than $300 on a travel system for my child, especially when I plan on having more children because I have to buy a double stroller.

We spent about 2 hours trying out strollers this weekend...I found that the Uppa/bugaboo type strollers were much easier to push (I could do it with one hand) and had shock absorbers on the wheels if you go over bumpy sidewalks. The overall "look" is different, the weight is different, and a bassinet is included in some more $$ strollers. The carseat is included in the Graco travel system, though, which is a plus.
We're probably splurging on a bugaboo or uppababy b/c we will use it 2-3 times a day (we live in the city and walk pretty much everywhere). We also definitely wanted the bassinet to use in our living room/bedroom for the first few months.
I think it depends on where you'll use it and how often. Do you have a store nearby that you can go try them out?
ps: another great option (if you don't care about not having a bassinet) is the baby jogger city mini...it moved around SO well. it's much less $$ than those other brands too.
In my opinion, its all about what you're looking for ... we wanted a light weight stroller that came with a bassinet that would allow for a toddler attachment so that we could potentially use the stroller with more than one child. We also knew the specific infant car seat that we wanted to invest in which was either the Graco Snugride or the Chico Keyfit. We also wanted something that would easily fold down, great break system, foam wheels, etc. We had to do our homework and looked at several strollers, spoke with customer service and asked questoins, tried them out at local stores, etc.
All of that together for us meant that we were most interested in the UPPAbaby Vista ... that's what we purchased and we're happy with our decision. We did have to purchase an attachment which if I remember correctly was like $35 for the infant car seat. Fits great ... We can also cary up to 3 children on the stroller ... so we're planning on using the stroller with additional children.
