for sure not with a sore throat. The runny nose and cough (non-productive) are kind of par for the course during winter here. It seems like there is always someone sick at J's dayhome, so if people kept them home for every cough/runny nose. The kids would never be at dayhome
I'd make the call based on how he feels in the morning. The sore throat could be from post-nasal drip. When my allergies kick in I wake up every morning with a sore throat, convinced I'm coming down with something, then it goes away after I've been up an hour or two.
Hope it doesn't turn into anything serious. You need to be pampering yourself the next couple weeks!
I'm hoping he's feeling better in the morning--he's never had strep or anything like that, so I'm hoping it's just from being stuffed up. He also tends to think about it for a bit when I ask him if something hurts and didn't actually say, "My throat hurts" as much as I asked him if he had any oucheis and he pointed to this throat. Eh, we'll see!
I'm doing good! Has your cramping improved from yesterday?
Yeah, being stuffed up could definitely be irritating his throat - especially if it's forcing him to breathe through his mouth. Sounds like you've had similar weather to us the past week. Yesterday my nose was running like crazy even though I feel fine. I think it was just the sudden change from a week of rain to sunny and dry.
If I kept my trio home every time they had a runny nose and scratchy throat they would never go to school. If it were strep he would have a fever by now and would not be able to eat anything. I am going with post nasal drip..
Re: would you send him to school tomorrow?
runny nose and cough yes....sore throat...ehhh not sure. Probably not.
Dont want to risk it being strep. Im no expert, just saying he needs the rest and not out spreading germs.
yeah, the sore throat is what concerned me.
He is going to be so pissed if I don't let him go to school in the morning. gah!
I hope he feels better!

Hi Susie! How are you doing?

This is going around. P had a sore throat for 2 days, then runny nose, then cough, etc. It lasted 2 weeks.
He gave it to me and I had the sore throat for 2 days and still have the stuffiness (a week and a half later).
I would say the sore throat is just from drainage, but of course I'm no doctor.
Hopefully, he is feeling better this morning and it will be easier to make a decision.
