Told my sister about IVF and received a lecture

I finally broke down and told my sister that I was starting Lupron on Tuesday and the IVF process was going to begin.  She gave me a lecture about her concerns with my husband being the person to take care of the baby during the day while I am at work.  This coming from a woman whose husband called her 7 times while she was at a bridal shower yesterday telling her that their 7 year old was sick. He claimed that his stomach was distended and he was in pain.  The kid had to poop!  I don't know why I bothered.  This is why I won't be telling anyone else in the family but chances are she will spill it anyway.

ugh I'm sorry that's awful. Sounds like she's concerned about your husband because of the way her Hubby acts when he's left with the kid. Yeah alot of people doesn't understand and will never understand what you've gone through to get this far. We are all here for support for you! ) We really don't want to tell anyone either because people can be so insensitive about it and thats the last thing you need!

That was really inappropriate of your sister.  I'm sorry that she wasn't able to give you support instead.  Hopefully she'll come around

I hope you told her how her comments were less than supportive.  I'm sorry.  Sounds like she has some parenting issues she needs to address.

Thanks all!  I knew the minute the words were out of my mouth that I had made a huge mistake in sharing with her.  I want to thank all of you for your support. I will be starting my journey on Tuesday.  I am nervous but very excited.
