High-Risk Pregnancy

so THATS what that is--update to my update :-)

So I posted in my bedrest mamas update that I had weird abdominal pain that the dr's & my nurses yesterday couldnt figure out...well I mentioned it again to my new night nurse and she asked if I had had any abdominal surgery ever--I had my appendix out the summer of 08'--then she mentioned that maybe it was scar tissue stretching and/or possibly tearing!

It all clicked--the pain is EXACTLY where my appendix pain was before my emergency appendectomy--now I just hope that its just stretching hasnt actually torn b/c I dont know how serious scar tissue tearing would be--but thought you all would be interested to know, Ive never heard or though of pregnancy affecting my old appendectomy site

  • Huh!  I had my gallbladder removed in '03.  Now, the area around my belly button, which is where they went in to take out my gallbladder, is often VERY sore and tender.  I wonder if it could be the same thing.........

Glad you got an answer and it's not something terrible Smile

  • Yeah I bet it could be! My nurse said that she has had patients who have had other abdominal surgeries like lapband and stuff that is done laproscopically that have had issues w/ pain from stretching where they went in--for me its where my appendix used to be but it makes sense to have pain from stretching scar tissue

  • Don't you just love it when things start to make sense.... :-)
  • Hmmmm.... that makes sense, and probably explains the on-and-off pain in my lower right quadrant.  I had my appendix out, too.
  • ouch!!  glad you are getting it figured out!!  (and i'm glad to have a heads up, since I also have had my appendix out!)
