I had mine yesterday and barely felt it.   It took 2 seconds.   I had read about it and thought it would be worse but it was nothing.

They did it at mine, but I think it was an outside swab.  Barely felt a thing.

Sounds like it depends on who is doing it, whether you get the innie/outie treatment!

Also, what is up with the drs/nurses having you swab yourself. I've read this a lot on 1st tri about the girls that have to insert the dildo cam themselves. They're Drs, that is what they are are supposed to do! What's next, you performing your own pap?

I found this odd as well! I'd much rather a doctor do things, no matter how weird they are. I just don't trust myself!

 Yeah, after reading about the test on here and hearing a few stories, I was scared to death to get the Strep B test done. When the DR pulled out a long swab I kind of freaked. The test took all of two seconds and was a "dab, dab" and he was done. It wasn't like anal rape or anything. I honestly felt NOTHING. I don't know why they wouldn't tell you exactly what they planned to do. That would piss me off!

I am seriously wondering the same thing. I would not want to swab myself.  May not be fun, but the doctor should have to do it.

I didn't have to insert the vaginal u/s myself, but the tech didn't look, and she "missed".  I had to tell her, that she wrong place.....  DH burst out laughing.  Once the u/s tech left the room, DH said "at least I am not the only one who needs guidance sometimes"
