Affordable daycare in the Lincoln Park area?

Can anyone recommend affordable daycare in Lincoln Park? We are near the Armitage Brown Line stop.  Anything would help to get my search started!  Thanks!

First, it depends on what you consider "affordable"- for some people, that might mean $100 per week and others it might mean $300 per week.  Can you provide a bit more of a range of what you are looking for?

Your best bet for "affordable" daycare will be an in-home daycare center.  Start by asking around to see if anyone if your neighborhood has one or knows of one.  You can also call Action for Children (or something like that) and either for free (or a small fee- depending on your salary), they will send you a list of the licensed in-home and daycare centers in the areas you request.  There is no guarantee that they are "good"- but they are at least licensed.

You can also try joining npnparents.org and posting there.

Good luck- the daycare search is exhausting and frustrating!  But once you find a good one, SO worth it!
