3rd Trimester

registry-matching things

does your bouncy seat, swing, high chair, pack and play, ect.  all come from the same line?  The only thing I see alot of matching items is the swing and bouncer, I did not register for matching ones because I thought the bouncer in that collection was too much.  Do you think this is going to look bad?

Re: registry-matching things

  • No, none of our items match except our car seat and stroller because it's a travel system. To us, safety and ratings were more important than keeping the decor the same.

  • LOL- no, none of my stuff is from the same line. I didn't really think about that when I registered and I don't think it looks bad at all- we did gender neutral for all those things those so they all somewhat coordinate.

  • Nope i didn't go matchy matchy with everything --only thing that matches is the travel system!  who is going to know?  The carseat stays in the car for the most part, so does the stroller...and the PNP will be in our bedroom (who's going to know or care if it doesn't match) and her bouncy seat is pink (the one gender specific thing I got!) and I really don't think it's a big deal if things don't match....dont drive yourself nuts on this one!

  • I wanted the best products in each category. I don't give a crap if they match (and none of mine do).
  • Nothing of ours came from the same line.

  • No, it won't look bad at all. No one will notice. Nothing matches with what we got. We tried to stay in the same color families, if possible, but no such luck. The actual item was more important that matching - and none of them really "go" together anyway (different rooms, uses, etc.)

  • Our PnP and travel system(carseat/stroller) match. Mostly because my mom let me pick whatever I wanted and I'm a matchy person. Lol DH couldn't argue because he wasn't footing the bill.
  • I just looked @ safety ratings...nothing we bought is from the same line.
  • none of them match. I don't see the point. Most of those items won't be hangining out together, anyway.
  • They had matching PnP, bouncer, carseat, stroller, swing, and highchair in the design that I loved, but in the end we just got the stroller from that line - nothing else matches. We're borrowing a carseat, found a good used swing and highchair, and the bouncer and PnP were discontinued; I think they're discontinuing the whole line eventually.

Anyway, I don't think it looks bad. The only pieces that will be used together are the carseat and stroller, and those are at least the same color scheme.

Ditto! I could care less ... I just wanted to make sure that everything that we purchased was very high quality ... great reviews (consumer reports, baby bargains, etc.)

  • With DD#1 yes. And I'm reusing most of her gear so Yes ( carseat/stroller/high chair and swing) I am getting a new bouncy seat and floor gym though, they don't match and DD's ddin't match her set. I don't think its important to match though.
  • My swing and bouncer match. They were a gift from MIL.
  • None of our items match - we picked items based on reviews and what we were looking for and none of them happened to come from the same line.  I'm not worried about it, it's not like they'll all be in the same room together all the time and I would rather have what I feel is most useful, safe, etc. than what looks good.
It took 3 1/2 long years, but we finally got our little miracle!

  • Nope.  I don't do matchy-matchy.  That said, most of our things coordinate.  For example, our carseat is green and brown and so is our swing, except one is Graco and the other is Fisher Price.
  • Our swing and PNP match, but only because I liked the print and relative features of each one.  I didn't set out to pick them based on pattern alone.  And none of the other stuff matches that at all.

this first and foremost! plus not all items will be near each other or in the same room at our house...so to us, it doesn't matter... then my thought although typically matchy matchy... was that if I were to get all the same patterna dn then have to re-use for future children i will get sick of it being everywhere I turn.....

  • NONE of my baby gear matches, that would've made me feel crazy.

Our bouncer was in Rainforest, swing was beige (papasan), pnp deco something, travel system sterling. Bumbo was purple. You get the idea. It all worked out.
