Looking for an armchair/glider to nurse baby in and I'd like to spend less than $400. I've been looking at furniture on Wayfair, which looks great and is priced so well but one of my friends said that the Wayfair furniture is basically the same quality as Ikea furniture. I already own the Ikea Ektorp sofa, which I like, but my husband's not a huge fan (says it isn't very comfortable).
Just wondering if any of you have experience with Wayfair furniture? Do you think it's the same quality as Ikea?
I have a friend who has had HORRIBLE experiences with Wayfair. Products by being delivered, or being delivered damaged and not being replaced. The customer service is apparently terrible!
Our crib came from Wayfair and I think it is better quality than the Ikea cribs I looked at, but it is a brand that is sold other places and not just Wayfair. We didn't have any problems with the order, the box was damaged from UPS and there were a few minor nicks, but overall for the price we were really pleased.
Wayfair is iffy. Some stuff is great, some not so much. I've had fantastic experiences with their customer service though. They have let me keep merchandise while refunding me when things haven't been up to par, or they have overnighted replacements. That said, I think you need to try a glider out, it's an important piece of nursery furniture. Have you tried Homegoods? You can get killer deals there sometime.
Personally, I love Wayfair. I've never had ANY sort of problems with them. Everything I've ordered has come quickly & undamaged. The reviews on certain things help a lot, too because you can see how someone else's experience with one particular thing went.
I've always liked IKEA but I also agree that most things aren't the most comfortable & for me, they've always come apart way too easily - especially when being moved - so I would definitely try Wayfair. & if it isn't up to your standards, their Customer Service really is very helpful.
Well, way fair is simply a retailer, not a brand of furniture. So you can find some good stuff, some crap. IKEA is ikea. It is what it is. I've been furnishing a new house for a year, and furniture is NOT cheap. For under $400, I honestly don't think you're going to find anything that feels like sturdy, strong hardwood furniture. It's so depressing
So helpful. Thank you all for weighing in. And yeah @Peony1982, it's super depressing.... Just trying to get the best I possibly can for the money I have. Womp womp.
Wayfair has everything from cheap particle board furniture to high end furniture. I'd suggest doing a little homework on the brands that you like and see the reviews from other websites online. If possible, try out a few items at a store locally. I haven't bought a glider yet either. I'm in the same boat. I've begun to wonder if I even need one. I have a hard time shelling out so much money for a chair...
IKEA poang chair! I wanted one when I had my first two but never got it. I got one now for 150$ and I love it. It more bounces/rocks then glides but does so with minimal effort. You can also pick out your choice of wood colour and fabric colour and there is a foot stool to elevate your feet. My SO even loves the chair and he is 6'8 and finds it comfortable and its is modern looking unlike the glider chairs which I would never want anywhere besides in the baby's room.
Literally all my furniture is from Ikea - I love the place! Now it's just a matter of convincing the hubster to go look at their armchairs I think that's where I'll start.
I love the Paong rocker!!! If I had room I would get the beige with an extra slip cover. They always have the chairs so there will always be new covers to pick from if you ever get bored.
