freezer burn? maybe a dumb question.

how do i know if my ice cream is freezer burnt? theres no ice crystal stuff. but it makes a scarping sound when i dig in the spoon. i know eating food with freezer burn can make you sick so im not really willing to risk it. please help..i really wanna eat my ice cream. i went out in the cold to get it and now i dont think i can eat it

I have no idea what you mean but you can usually taste it or see the ice, or it has a 'rubbery' appearance in my experience. I'm a suggestive eater at this point so if I think something's freezer burnt it just grosses me out and I can't eat it.

i dunno. my mom said it could make you sick if you eat it. but i dont know what its supossed to taste like bc ive never had it before. ben and jerrys banana split. i guess i can eat it and hope for the best

freezer burn wont make u sick, its just moisture accumulating and freezing, it can make something taste different becuase it tasted like your freezer hahaha, but it wont hurt you.

ur ice cream is prob just overly hard and too frozen, if there arent any ice crystals or a thin layer of ice ur fine....enjoy that ice cream!

Just scrape off the top part; freezer burn usually only effects the exposed areas...if you scrape it off, the ice cream underneath will be fine.

I never heard of freezer burn being harmful....just unappealing.
