Groin ache = varicose veins???

For the last week I have had pain in my vulval area when I stand for a long time and I'm stressed I might be getting varicose veins there. Does anyone else have an ache there? Any other possible explanations?

Re: Groin ache = varicose veins???

  • I had groin pain with my last pregnancy and I have it again this time. I've never had varicose veins. I'm not sure what causes this, but since I had it last time, I'm not too worried. I found that doing yoga helped last time. Since I have a 16 month and no time I haven't had time to go this time around. If I had to guess (and that's what this is) - I would say it has to do with the new found weight in the pelvic region and the body getting used to it. If I think about it I might just ask the doctor next time I see her. Hope this helped put your mind at ease.

  • It's probably justs due to stretching and/or pressure.  Varicose veins won't start appearing until a couple inches down the leg on the inside due to where the come off of the greater saphenous vein.  The only thing I would say is to make sure that you don't have any significant swelling in the leg, as this might be a sign of a blood clot.  (not trying to freak you out, but clots can happen during pregnancy)

  • Google pubic symphisis disfunction....might be symhisis pubic though.

I've had pain in my crotch just above the outer labia and I googled it to find this matched me perfectly.....stretching of pelvic muscles.
