For the last week I have had pain in my vulval area when I stand for a long time and I'm stressed I might be getting varicose veins there. Does anyone else have an ache there? Any other possible explanations?
I had groin pain with my last pregnancy and I have it again this time. I've never had varicose veins. I'm not sure what causes this, but since I had it last time, I'm not too worried. I found that doing yoga helped last time. Since I have a 16 month and no time I haven't had time to go this time around. If I had to guess (and that's what this is) - I would say it has to do with the new found weight in the pelvic region and the body getting used to it. If I think about it I might just ask the doctor next time I see her. Hope this helped put your mind at ease.
It's probably justs due to stretching and/or pressure. Varicose veins won't start appearing until a couple inches down the leg on the inside due to where the come off of the greater saphenous vein. The only thing I would say is to make sure that you don't have any significant swelling in the leg, as this might be a sign of a blood clot. (not trying to freak you out, but clots can happen during pregnancy)

Google pubic symphisis disfunction....might be symhisis pubic though.
I've had pain in my crotch just above the outer labia and I googled it to find this matched me perfectly.....stretching of pelvic muscles.
