When did you travel on plane for 1st time with LO?

What age was LO and how far did you go? What kind of trip was it?

Would you recommend it or think waiting is better?

when DS was 6 weeks. We went from OK to CA to see in laws. Wasn't bad at all. I'm sure it would be much harder now since he doesn't sleep as often.

We flew with DD from WI to CO when she was 2 months. It went very well. I think the longer you wait, the harder it will be because they will be awake longer and want to move around more.

My daughter was 3 months and I was alone. From SF to Boston (6.5 hrs). My son was 6 weeks (1.5 hr flight) but I was with my daughter and my parents. Both babies slept the whole time. It's much easier with infants rather than toddlers!

We will be going to Philly (short flight and my mom is coming along with me) in Feb...he'll be 5 1/2 months. I've heard that 6 months is the ideal time to start, but I think anywhere b/t 3-12 months would be fine. Earlier than 3 months and the pedi's usually don't like it b/c of the germs, but plenty have done it with no problems.
