Playtex Bottles: Dropin or Ventaire?

We started our registry yesterday & when it came to bottles, we couldn't decide between the Playtex Dropin's or the Playtex Ventaire.  We went with the Ventaire since DH thought it'd be easier to clean instead of buy dropins.  This morning, I started looking at ratings & the dropins seem to be the customer favorite of the 2 on BRU's website.

If you went with Playtex bottles, which did you register for?

Re: Playtex Bottles: Dropin or Ventaire?

  • I will tell you we have both.

The drop ins are 10 times easier. I hate trying to clean out the ventaire ones and I find after you take them apart sometimes they leak out the bottom. The actual drop ins are reasonably priced and there are a lot of generic ones that work just as good.

  • we used playtex drop-ins.  we loved it . . the only problem is the amount of air in the drop-ins .  even with squeezing out the air, DD still had a lot of gas problems . .
  • We used both with DD. I will tell you that the drop in's are a little easier, but more expensive in the long run.

  • We used drop ins and LOVED them. We will use them again with this baby. We bought Targets liners and they always worked just as well. Clean up was super easy, plus if we were out and about and needed a clean bottle, we could just put in a new liner instead of carrying a bunch of bottles with us.

  • we used the drop-ins and loved them....no issues.

we never tried the vent-aire ones but i heard they leak.

  • We used Vent Aires w/ DD1 (DD2 refused a bottle).  WE never had any problems.  My SIL actually switched from drops in's w/ her 1st to vent aires w/ her 2nd.  Also, I have been told that the wide mouth of the vent aires are better if you plan to switch between BF and bottle feeding.  GL!
  • we used the drop ins - WAAAAY less stuff to clean.

they have wide nipples for the drop ins too.  actually, they're exactly the same.  they have ones for both the drop ins and the vent air, but in reality they are the same exact nipples, just different labels on the packaging.

  • We used drop ins as well with DD and they worked very well and really convenient.
  • Customer ratings on BRU were much better for Drop Ins than Ventaire. That's all I know.

  • Another vote for dropins--we used them last time and will use them again.  Much less hassle.

  • I'll be using the drop ins for one reason, mainly. I found breast milk storage bags that will fit into the Playtex nurser. That sounds so easy to me. Just go from storage to feeding. Voila!
