I think her regular babbling may contain mostly vowels-- but I know she can say consonants (guess I'm not as knowledgeable about this topic as I should be). Once she said something that sounded like "I'm Baby" which we now love to say to her all the time using her baby voice -- yes, we're nerds. But, yeah, I guess most of the time it is vowels, and lots of sighs. I think she uses repetition....not verbatim but her babbles usually follow a theme for a while and then switch to a different sound and pitch for a while.
Off to google and probably add this to my issues to stress over ; )

Toodle only occasionally does the typical "milestone" babbling like "da-da-da", "ba-ba-ba" (and occasionally "ya-ya" or "ma-ma"). When he's sick he does a lot of "deh-deh-deh"...but mostly he just does vowels or loud yells.
Mine do it but not a ton, I've gotten some mamamas dadada and bababas but they still do a lot of vowels and yelling. At my NICU followup they said they should start to really do it more in the next month or so. I wouldnt worry.

My DD still uses mostly vowels with some consonants mixed in every now and then (and some yelling too ) I'm a speech therapist and I'm not concerned... as long as your LO is cooing/babbling an interacting with you I wouldn't worry
Katie didn't start babbling until a few months ago...around 12/13 months. Karly never babbles. She waits until she learns the word and then says it. I was concerned but she says so many words that the pedi isn't.
twin girls after 43 months of TTC..
Katherine Emily (5 lbs 12 oz 19 1/4 in) and Karly Elizabeth (5lbs 7 oz 19 in)
!!My bio!!!!My Blog!!
Hayden does a lot of vowels still but he has started to put some consanants in there. We will get the occasional ma-ma-ma and da-da-da and then some words that I can't even spell out. He seems to babble a lot so I am not worried.
yes, lots of yelling and lots of really high pitch squeeking for the most part with raspberries and spitting in between ......occasionally dadada, babababa and wawawa ...nothing to be concerned about!!

James started with the occasional "ba ba ba" around 6 months, but that was literally the only consonant sound he made for 2 months. And it was rare-- still mostly "ahhhhhhhhh!" and high pitched squealing. Then around 8 months he started with the "ma ma ma" and the very occasional "da da da."
Now, he still makes mostly those same sounds, along with something that sounds sort of like "dab dab dab dab dab." Raspberries are high on his priority list, too.
