What age for yogurt? cheese?

My 9 month old dd is really into food...my older daughter was not (and still isn't), so I can't remember these things!  When can I give her yogurt?  How about string cheese?  I know no whole milk until 1, but I couldn't remember if she could eat other dairy earlier.  We see our pedi again at 10 months (she has a weird schedule).

Thanks!

Re: What age for yogurt? cheese?

  • You can start the yobaby as early as 6 months, we started giving DD cheese at 7 months, that's when she started refusing all baby food of any kind. Pedi said it was ok.
  • We  just got the go ahead from our pedi at DD's 9 month well visit.  She also suggested we start introducing some meats too.  My son, like your first daught, wasn't and isn't into food, so it's also hard for me to know what I should be doing with DD!

  • She boycotted all baby food at 8.5 months, so she'd definitely had both by 9 months. At her 9 month appt, the pedi said ok to everything except raw honey, shellfish (which she had already had) and peanuts (she'd also had peanut butter by stealing her brother's sandwich).
