So I've been planning on having a "bump shoot" since I found out I was pregnant. I even went as far as having our wedding photographer plan on us for March, but now I'm rethinking doing them at all. I've been looking at other photographers galleries for ideas and a lot of them are pretty graphic-artsy but very naked! I'm not comfortable with my body now and its just starting to grow, I can only imagine how I'll feel in another couple of months! I want to have more then just bathroom mirror shots to document the pregnancy but I'm not sure if I can go through with this! Have any of you seen any maternity shoots where the moms are mostly clothed? If so, links please!!
Baby #3 is on the way!
Also Mama to Max 5/21/10 and Lucy 6/18/12
Re: Maternity Photos?
I haven't seen any. Actually, I've seen very few maternity photos at all. However, just a thought: I have a friend who takes really nice photos (wanted to go into photography but didnt). I think I might just google maternity photos and find some I like and ask her to take just a few that make me comfortable. I have like...3 or 4 that I know I want done. Only one is naked (its the close up of the hands making the heart on the belly) the others I want to be clothed for. Maybe you know someone who could do them for you and just find a few examples of photos you want?
Plus, I'd bet that you can control how naked they get regardless of the person doing them...just be upfront and specific when you meet with the photographer.
p.s. here's my bump blog link-

Also, the button up shirt is a good idea! I always take a set in the wrap dress, a set wearing one of my SO's dress shirts with it unbuttoned at the belly (dont have those ones on my blog), and a set with a little more skin! G/L!
Awh, thanks
Thanks! I love the wrap dress idea and your pics! A friends sister offered to do a shoot for free since she's just starting her photo biz so maybe I'll do a test run with her before I shell out the big bucks with our photographer. I'm hoping once I get past this beer gut stage I'll embrace my bump a little more and be willing to show a little more skin!
sorry 4got the link
