Is that weird? She lives about 2 hours away and the family all lives around me. Including MIL, who has offered to have it at her house but SIL isn't her biggest fan and does not want that. Personally, if it were up to me, I would want SIL to host the shower at my MIL's house, but I don't feel it's up to me to be making…

Well, I wouldn't mind. I look at it like this... At least you don't have to haul gifts! They will already be there!! Just ask her to help you clean the house before hand so it's not on you to make your house look good for the party she is hosting.
