Arghhhhh

So now discharge is "Thursday, maybe Friday." I know they are trying to be cautious, but this is driving me nuts. It keeps getting bumped. I need to tell work what day I will be off!

Re: Arghhhhh

  • I know exactly how you feel! Our first son had at least 3 different discharge dates. When it was time for his twin brother to come home, we told the nurses to just call us and say come get him! When they told me he could go home, I seriously didn't believe them. The good news is that you are down to the wire now! Your baby is coming home and just in time for Christmas!

  • Exactly why I never asked "when is he coming home?"  I would hate to e disappointed over and over agian.  Sorry this is happening!
  • I think this is the worst part of the NICU.  I stop believing them unless I was walking to the car with baby in hand.

    Hopefully it will be soon

  • Sorry you are going through that. Did you already bring the carseat up and have her pass that test?

Also, Dr. Cleary( i think thats his nmame) is amazing and I was expecting a Tuesday departure and he called me a day before hand and it was a nice surprise! I was home by myself with the boys, so I had to wait until that night to get her, and they were ok with that. I know you would want to pick her up ASAP, but if you have to work until you definitely know, I would just do that and maybe leave early when you get the call?

Either way, good luck! I'm so excited that she will finally be home soon with you.

  • For this reason I am glad our NICU was so conservative and cautious with giving discharge dates.  I don't think I could have handled it being pushed back repeatedly!
  • Aw, sorry! I guess this is why we were never told a discharge date until the day of... she will be home soon!!
