Had an US on Tues, by date of LMP, I was 8w4d...saw and heard the
heartbeat at 159bpm. Fast forward to my OB appointment today. At
which I was told that my doc has serious concerns about the viability
of this pregnancy. He's concerned that both the gestational sac and the
crown to rump measurments are off...they measured 7w1d. However, my
progesterone level from a couple of weeks ago was great, and the
heartbeat was great. Apparently there is a 50/50 chance that this could
end with a healthy baby or a m/c.
Re: I know I've seen this post before, but I can't find it now...
By my last menstrual cycle I should be 11+ weeks. I didn't ovulate on day 14 like a "normal" person so I'm only 9 weeks. I say wait and see what the blood work shows. I have a feeling that you might have just ovulated late and you're not quite as far along as your LMC would indicate.
After you've seen a heartbeat there's only a 3% chance of miscarriage. I think your doctor's suggestion of it being 50/50 is a bit hasty unless you were monitored through your cycles and they know your exact ovulation date...ie: you did IF treatments.
Okay, so late ovulation is definitely a possibility. Since my daughter was born, I've been extremely irregular...I was charting temperatures, but not CM quality or cervix positioning, and per FF, I o'd on day 21...however, the math on that means that I'd be measuring way ahead...almost two weeks ahead per the US measurements this week.
Either way, the waiting is going to drive me nuts this week. Thanks for the input ladies!
I went to the Dr. Monday and was under the impression based on my LMP I should have been 8 weeks but when I got the sono done they measured baby at 6 weeks but the heartbeat was strong, I wasnt told I had anything to worry about. I am going back for another sono on 12/22 and can not wait to see my baby and hear it again!!
Im sure all is fine just relax and dont stress out
