infant child care

Hi all,

I've never posted to the RI board before, and I'm not sure how much traffic this board gets, but anyway... We are expecting our first child at the end of December/early January, and will have to find full time child care for her at the end of March/early April. I'm most interested in a small homecare situation (like a SAHM cares for 1-2 other children) but am open to all the options. Do any of you have recommendations? We don't know many people with children in the area, and I'm wary of just cold calling places. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Also, if you feeling like sharing about how much you are paying or what you know to be the average cost of full time infant care, that would be so helpful too. Thanks in advance!

Re: infant child care

  • The RI Newlywed board on The Nest has much more traffic.  I'd post there to get some feedback.  I know lots of girls use at home places.

  • We have looked at 2 in home day care centers in Warwick. They both run about $150/week for a full time infant.

DCYF's website is a good place to get started finding in home, licensed day cares in your area. Then you can set up a visit.
