How do I word a polite RSVP reminder?

We've still only had 4 people (out of 45) RSVP to DD's b-day party. So I'm thinking this Friday I'll send out and email with a gentle reminder. But how do I do it w/o looking like some kind of crazed mother-of-the-one-year-old-zilla?

 LOL at the one-year-old-zilla. I usually just put "regrets only" on the RSVP, that way rather than people calling to say they can come; we just get the calls saying those who can't. It's not always foolproof, but it's work a lot for us in the past. 

I think your idea for an e-mail is fine! Maybe you can just say that you wanted to get a final head count before you order/make/etc the food and cake and all that. That way people will think you aren't just trying to get the RSVP from them, but that you're concerned that you'll have an ample amount of food haha!

ok then say you forgot to put a deadline in, and do what PP said. lol

I would put the emails in the BCC part, that way everyone feels like they are the only one that didn't RSVP. Don't let them see that most people didn't, then they won't feel as bad!
