Unswaddled nows needing swaddle?

So I thought I broke my DS of being swaddled about a week ago. He was doing great going to sleep without being swaddled. Well after trying to get him to sleep for like 3 hours, I finally swaddled him and now he is asleep for the moment. He was really restless sleeping last night and during the day. I am thinking he has a tummy ache and keeps waking himself up. It seems like he falls asleep just fine in my arms, but as soon as I put him down he starts grunting, sqeaking and acting like his tummy hurts (he does this awake too). Anybody else? Should I switch formula? I just had to give up Breastfeeding due to low supply which was confirmed by my DS's weight loss.

  • My LO does the same thing. We finnaly figured out that he likes to be swaddled again and that helps him stay asleep bc his arms dont flail and wake him up, but he still grunts and squeeks and makes a tun of noise. We just switched formula too to see if the gas reduces...its only day 1 of the switch so I dont know if its helping yet. I think he just may be a really noisy baby...like you said awake and asleep.

  • What formula did you switch to? I am thinking of trying the Similac Sensitive, but if he is not Lactose intolerant, I am afraid to give him something without Lactose. I would hate to "make" him lactose intolerant. Is that dumb?

  • My DS still likes to be swaddled too. He is almost 8 weeks. How old is yours? A friend of mine still swaddles her son and he is 7 months! If he likes it then why not continue?
  • Have you tried letting him sleep on his tummy? once DS figured out how to roll over and onto his tummy he started sleeping a lot better (he had colic so i think the pressure helped him).
  • DS was on soy and he is definitely not lactose intolerant. I thought Similac Sensitive was just like Enfamil Gentlease? Maybe I am wrong. But Enfamil Gentlease is still milk based. I wouldn't switch to something that isn't milk based without talking to the pedi.
