We've been giving distilled but I'm thinking about buying a Brita filter for our sink to save money but I don't know if that's ok. I think I'm going to continue giving distilled and wait until his 2 month appt and ask the pedi. But in the meantime, what water do you use to mix formula with?

Re: What water do you use?
Home - tap water (we have well water)
Out and About - Bottled water
Gerber Pure. Target has gallons of it in the baby aisle.
But, I'm sure the Brita filter would be just fine. Sounds like a good idea, actually
Really? The nurse at the hospital suggested it. Now I'm confused...

Bottled water isn't sterile.
We use regular old tap water filtered out of the fridge or straight from the faucet. That's what the pedi suggests. I think there is also an issue having to do with fluoride. I don't know if they need it or not but I do know that bottled water does not have fluoride and tap does.
Dont you have to boil the water first?? I wouldnt give my lo tap water without boiling it, we have a brital water filtered jug and the in top where the filter is are little bits of grit ect... its really gross that we never see that in our glasses but when you filter the water you see it. (I ebf so I havnt talked to my pedi about it, but isnt that what all the formulas say? To boil water, cool it then mix?)
boiled spring water- Public Health told us spring water or hard water and boil it
