    I can see lots of people wearing them but honestly they're NMS. I think if they didnt have the big gold buckle they would be alot better....

    They aren't my style either but I have seen them in a lot of stores so I'm guessing lots of people are getting them.

    I have some knee-high brown riding boots with a smaller gold buckle that I love and get a lot of compliments on.  But I wouldn't get any boots at that height b/c I wear mine over jeans or with skirts/dresses.  That height limits what you can wear them with or how you can wear them.  If you wear more pants than skirts/dresses they may be more practical for you, but I wouldn't go with boots w/ a buckle.
