Fever from MMR Vaccine?

I think Klaire's fever is from her MMR shot 9 days ago.  She just doesn't seem sick.  Eating fine, playing, happy etc.  Anyways, if you kid had a fever from a vaccine how many days did it last?  It is hard to stay home from work when she seems perfectly fine except a low grade temp.

Re: Fever from MMR Vaccine?

  • 9 days seems like quite a long time.  I'd give the pedi a call tomorrow.  I had to get a Ruebella inj when I worked for a hospital and I think I got the rash within 5 days...but it might have been 3.  I wasn't contagious and no fever.

  • Well, the ped told me the reaction comes 7-12 days out.  So, I'm guessing it is from that since she doesn't seem sick to me.

  • A fever around a week after the MMR is very common, with my kids it didn't last more than a day.

  • My DS did that at about the same number of days after.   The fever only lasted one day and the next day he had a rash which lasted 3-4 days.  It is normal.

  • Katherine had a fever at day 10. It only lasted a few hours. She woke up in the middle of the night burning up and seeing "all the colors" (her words, not mine). Yep, that freaked me out. She was talking crazy and laughing like crazy. Not that it matters but we delayed the MMR because she was previously allergic to egg. She was 4 when she got it.
