  • There was a game where you paid $10 to buy a "birth date" for the baby.  In other words, you thought it was going to be born on November 1, you picked that day.  The money was then split - the mom-to-be got half of it automatically to buy something for the baby they didn't receive.  The other half went in to a pot and went to the person(s) who picked the day the baby was born got the money.  If no one picked the actual date, the other half of the money went to the parents, too.

  • My sister came up with a great one...

Not sure what it's called, but one person puts a roll of toilet paper between their legs. Another person puts a toilet plunger (stick out!) between their legs, and the two face each other. Then the time-keeper says "Go!" and the person with the stick tries to stick it in the toilet paper roll.... whoever does it the fastest wins. My husband was the toilet paper roll, LOL!

     It's a bit R-rated, but was hilarious fun :D

  • Guess how many safety pins are in the jar! Easy and fun!!
  • i love the game where you have to guess what kind of candy bar is smeared inside the diapers.  so gross and yet so awesome.

  • I'm not a fan of quite a few baby shower games, but I like the lottery one as well as good old gift bingo :)

  • I liked the baby diaper relay. We were split into two teams, and we each raced against the clock to undress the baby doll, diaper, and re-dress.

  • My favorite has to be the bottle chug. Fill empty bottles with your guests favorite drinks..beer for guys if its an adult party.. Count down on your mark get set go..Whichever guest sucks their bottle dry first wins!!

Theres also the Forbidden Baby game. When your guests arrive give them each 5 clothes pins and tell them saying the word baby is forbidden. If a guest spills and says the word baby, the person who catches them saying gets to snag one of their pins. The person with the most pins at the end of the shower wins a prize!

  • I like the "My Water Broke!" game.

The host freezes a small trinket in an ice cube (we used little plastic pink and blue pacifiers) and give one to each guest in a clear plastic cup.

They are not allowed to touch it or anything other than keeping an eye on it. The first to notice that their ice cube has melted yells "My Water Broke!" becomes the winner.?

  • I just went to a shower Sunday. They had 13 brown bags and in each was some sort of baby item; bottle bush, pacifier, bottle, etc. And you had to guess what was in the bag by feeling it.
  • Mommy quiz. Where everyone answers questions about the mommy to be. Things like what did mommy crave during pregnancy, what has been mommy's favorite thing about being pregnant, what has been mommy's least favorite thing about being pregnant. Questions like that. It is a fun game and you can ask as many or as few questions as you want. Taylor it to your mom to be and your guests.
  • We did several games at my shower. The favorite one that got the most laughs was the fill in the blank for nursery rhymes. It was amazing to see how many people in my mom's generation had the wrong answers. There was so many people laughing at the different answers. It made for a fun time.
  • I like interactive non embarrassing games.

My favorite game is Who Can Make The Mother-To-Be's Baby: (Materials - Baby magazines, Scissors, Glue, Paper).

Have the women (or guys too if it's coed) group up into teams of 3 and give each 2 baby magazines. Have them cut out pieces of different baby features (hair, eyes, lips, nose, chin) and put together a picture of what they think the Mother-To-Be's baby will look like.

    Have the Mother-To-Be pick which
baby would possibly look like hers the best! Give prizes to the
    winning team!

  • I threw a shower for my Sister-In-Law, and I came across the best game! It's called "Multi-Tasking Mommy."

Set up clothes lines with clothes pins and have laundry baskets filled with Onesies (Mommy will take them home later). Each contestant strings as many onesies on the clothes line as they can, while holding a "baby" (a doll) on their hip, and talking on the phone at the same time! We used cell phones, but toy phones work too. The contestant must keep talking the entire time! Whoever gets the most onesies on the line in one minute wins! It's a hilarious game to watch, and to listen to! The conversations people have with themselves "on the phone" are priceless.

  • Create a baby-Materials-one piece of stick gum, the wrapper from the gum and a qtip. Each person makes a baby using only those materials and the mom picks the winner.

Done at a couples shower-Pass the carrot-starting with a long carrot stick, pass the stick from person to person using only thier legs. Each time around the circle the carrot is cut smaller until the last people are able to pass it.

  • My favorite baby shower game is also a great way to keep guests interested during gift giving. The host fills out bingo cards prior to the shower with items from mom's registry. Prior to gift opening, each guest is given a bingo card and they fill it out just like you would a regular bingo card as mom is opening the gifts. Gift opening can be sooo boring for guests and this is a great way for them to have some fun the same time mom is!
  • My favorite shower game was done at my shower!   Each attendee writes a "wish" for baby(ies) SIGNS IT and then wraps it around a birthday candle and ties a ribbon to hold it on(we used tiny clear elastics too) and they are givento the mom is a special gift boX...

The baby opens one or two on every birthday!!   Its so special!!!  I bought a three inch matte and am going to save them every time he opens them and the love and wishes from relatives and friends will make quite an heirloom!

  • I dont like games but I liked this one.

It was like price or right. There was a basket full of baby items and you had to guess how much the hostess paid for it. The person closest to the total won the prize. It was a competitive but fun game and heck it benefited me because I got take the basket of stuff home!

  • Take ten different baby foods and freeze them into little popsicles (we used little ice cube trays and toothpicks).  Give every guest a set of ten and have them guess the flavors.  Most correct answers wins.  (And to not have a ton of correct answers, pick some strange flavors.)

  • At my shower my sisters made copies of all of my ultrasound pictures ( I had A LOT of ultrasounds).  They labeled each with a number and then they had a list of body parts i.e head, foot, hand, eyes, mouth etc.  You had to match the correct body part to each ultrasound picture.  It was so fun!!  We all had a good laugh.
  • It's all about the clothespin game- where you cannt say a certain word or else lose the clothespin(s) you are wearing- that game can be cutthroat! Anyone can play it, it lasts the whole time, including present opening. Sometimes guests forget about it, it's fun to remind them about it.
  • At a recent shower, we had "Bobbing for pacifiers."  Several pie tins were filled with whip cream and we had the men put on blind folds.  The first to find the pacifier with his mouth won.  However, only the dad-to-be actually did it, the rest of the men were secretly told not to participate.  Not much of a game really, but loads of fun none the less.  The dad ends up with whip cream all over his face and when he takes off his blind fold, he realizes that he was the only one participating.
  • I have another one...

For my friends shower we melted 5 different types of bite size chocolates inside a diaper so it can look like a dirty diaper.  We numbered them and  gave all the guests a pen and piece of paper.  We lined the diapers on a seperate table and every guest walked by the diaper table and had to guess which type of chocolate was melted on each diaper. They were only able to smell the diaper. Who ever guessed the most right won. It's kind of grosse but it was so much fun, that was everyones favorite game.

    Types of chocolate we used...

    - Snickers

    - Recess

    - Hersheys

    - Milky Way

    -  Twixx

  • At my DD's shower they did the Pair of Bloomers game.  You need a box that a nice corsage can fit in and cushion it well.  Wrap the box several times (I think they did it 20 times) with different colors of tissue paper.  At the beginning of the game the guests were told there were a pair of bloomers inside the box.  Then the guests were told that they would pass the box from person to person while the music was playing and when the music stopped the person who held the box would take off one layer of wrapping paper.  The person who takes off the last bit of paper has to wear the pair of bloomers for the rest of the shower.  It was like the "hot potato game".  People were literally throwing the box once they figured it was getting down to the last couple of layers of wrapping paper.  When the guest who took off the last bit of paper opened the box she was pleasantly surprised to find the pair of bloomers was a very pretty wrist corsage made with two flowers (bloomers) that she wore for the rest of the shower.  This is a great game to have at the beginning of the shower.  Everyone loved the game and it was a lot of fun doing it.
  • OK an easy but pratical shower game...a diaper raffle. Guests bring a bag of diapers to be entered into a drawing for a prize. Mom to be gets all the diapers she needs for newborn! :O)
  • OK! Game NO. 2

    "WHO'S YOUR DADDY?!?"

Take good sized photos out of a gossip magazine of babies/toddlers and paste them to a poster board. Mark baby photo with a letter. Take photos of baby's celebrity moms and paste them on the board with a number. Have guests match celebrity baby to celebrity mother. Fun! :O)

(you can also do a variation of this game by matching "odd" celebrity baby names to celebrity parent names. Just replace names, instead of photots on the board. Takes some thought, but fun! :O) )

  • At my sister-in-law's baby shower we played a really simple game that ended up being quite fun. And all the guys got really competitive with it too! A ball of yarn was passed around and you had to cut off a chunk to guess how big around you thought the mom was. After everyone had their piece cut, she went around the room and put everyone's yarn around her belly to see who was the closest without going over. The winner gets a prize.

  • At our baby shower, we loved playing "Guess Mommy's Waist Size." After each guest was seated, my friend came around with a roll of string. The guests were told to estimate my waist size around the bump, then cut the string accordingly. I'm not particularly sensitive about how big I am around the middle, so it was funny to see how many people over-estimated ... though in the end, we had three people guess almost EXACTLY my waist size.
  • My sister asked me what games I wanted to play at my shower so I have been looking around and here is one of my favorites (that hasn't been mentioned) that we are going to do.  There are two versions one from babyshower101.com and one we did at my wedding shower.  There are so many good ones it will be hard to narrow it down!  I'm curious what you pick as the top 5!

"B" is for Baby: (Materials paper and pens passed out to all the women). Each woman is told to write the babies Mom-To-Be and Father-To-Be's name on a paper going vertically down the page. Next to each letter of both names, create a word that is baby related or things that kids like. An example of using the names Kim and Dan:

    K= kite D=drool
    I= ice cream A=alphabet
    M= mother N=nap

The one who guesses the most words that are the same as the mother-to-be wins a prize.

We did a version of this at my bridal shower and it was a big hit!  Make a list of baby related words and you have to complete the phrase like diaper____ if I write bag  whoever else wrote bag gets a point and the one with the most points gets a huge basket of goodies!  Everyone loved it!

  • Not really a game I guess, but I thought it was a great idea. My MIL had everyone write advice, fun sayings etc. on a cute piece of paper and then hide it inside a diaper. The "game" part of it is that when we go to change our LO, we'll be able to pull the paper out and read what it says. I peeked at a couple of them and they were funny. One said, "Make dad change this one." Another one had a drawing of a target on it and said, "poop goes here." I can't wait to read the rest of them.
  • We had a few cute ones, and a few others are my favs:

    1. Message on a Diaper - Each guest writes a message on a size 1 diaper, then they're put back in the pack. Then, when mommy and daddy use the diapers they get a cute message to make them smile.

    2. "Don't Say Mommy" -  Pacifiers are put on ribbon necklaces, and anyone who catches someone else saying "mommy" can take the offender's necklace. The person with the most necklaces at the end wins.

    3. Match the Baby - Every person at the shower brings a baby picture of themselves. Everyone tries to match the baby picture with those attending the shower. The person with the most matches wins.

  • We played a cute game at my shower.  It was the Baby Attribute game.  There was a list of attributes on one side of the paper, and my DHs and my name at the top.  Guests had to choose which attribute they think I would say I wanted for the baby, DHs or mine.  Then DH filled one out too.  It was very cute and everyone laughed a lot!

    The instructions were as follows:

We all know that Baby M will grow into a unique individual who possesses many wonderful gifts from his parents.  Below mark the attribute you think Mom would like her baby boy to have from either Dad or herself.

    The attributes were:

Eyes, charm, humor, temper, cleaning skills. green thumb, creativeness, athelticism, sleeping habits, sense of fashion, cooking ability, patience, thriftiness, common sense, dancing skills, sense of adventure, and driving skills.

  • My MIL did a game at my baby shower similar to memory. There are 30 numbered squares on a board and you had to pick two numbers and try to get the same answer. Example: Number 1- Hospital Bill and Number 28- Hospital Bill. Each match would get a candy bar prize. Again the example with Hospital Bill was 100 Grand bar. It was pretty clever and it wasn't too in your face of a game. It goes by quickly especially if you have a lot of people. The person that had the most candy bars at the end also won a gift card.

  • I love height date and weight box pools like the superbowl score ones.
  • There's a game I think it's actually called "Who Smells a Stinky Poo?".  All of them except one smells like baby powder the other one smells like a stinky poo.  Whoever has the stinky poo wins, it's hysterical to watch everyone hesitantly sniff their card!

  • At my first baby shower we played by far the funniest game ever!  It was a perfect mix of men and women so what we did was then split the men in groups of two!  One male had to be the "New Dad" and the other had to be the "Baby"!

We took huge white sheets of fabric and big safety pins and each "Baby" had to lay on the ground at the starting line.  When the buzzer went off the "New Dad" had to put the white diaper on the baby securely, plug a pacifier in his mouth and from there it was a baby race around in a large circle to the finish line! To watch these grown men totally clueless and then battle it out till the finish line dressed as babies was hysterical to say the least!

The crowd laughed so hard we were all hysterical with cries and laughter!  The best part was the men loved it!  I gave out a huge BBQ gift basket to each of men on the winning team!

When people tell me they remember my baby shower that is the one thing they bring up and we start laughing all over again!  Thank goodness we video taped it!!

  • My favorite games is:

the "blindfolded cotton ball pick up" game.

Each person takes a turn being blindfolded and they have a minute to try to scoop up as many cotton balls up with a spatula. They scoop them up into a large bowl. One important rule is that you can not use the other hand to feel how many you have scooped or help scoop the cotton balls onto the spatula. The winner is the person with the most cotton balls collected after a minute.

It is hilarious becuase the cotton balls are so light that people think they are doing a really good job but when they are done they take the blindfold off to see that they only have a few cotton balls- or worse, NONE!

  • 14) Guess the baby pictures: Ask for everyone's pictures prior to the baby shower. Have all the pictures in a collage and make lines for people to fill in who they think the babies are out of the girls at the baby shower. If most women don't know each other, just have the pictures of the mother, mother-in-law, sisters, and mommy-to-be. See how many people guess right. You can make copies of the baby picture collage to see how many can guess right!
  • my favorite is you can't say baby. It's old and everybody does it but it's so much fun. You put a necklace on that's a piece of string and maybe a samall pink or blue pacifier or something else,or you can use clothes pins. You can't say the word baby. It's  a baby shower so you know the word is used throughout the day. Everytime someone hears you say the word baby they take your necklace even if you have five taght you've gotten from other people they get them all this game is played until the end of the shower so you have a chance at winning them back. The person with the most necklaces at the end wins!!
  • I've seen this game a few times.  You take a basket of baby items...ice pack, teething ring, baby food, baby brush, socks, etc.  Then you walk around the room.  The guests get a quick look.  Then the person carrying the basket leaves the room.  The guests are instructed to write down as many items as they can remember in the basket.  The one who remembers the most wins!

There are a couple of twists you can do.  Use a few different flavors of baby food and offer bonus points to those who can name the flavors of baby food.  Also, bonus points for those that can remember what the carrier was wearing.  For example, blue shirt, black skirt, black mary janes, bracelet, etc.  :)  Usually no one thinks to look at the carrier.

  • I've never seen this, but I thought it might work?  You find out some fun facts about the Mom and Dad-to-be from when they were a baby. Then you have to create a "Mom or Dad" quiz.  It would go something like:

    Circle "Mom" or "Dad"

I slept with a fluffy bunny until I was 4    Mom or Dad

I was a preemie weighing 5lbs 4oz.   Mom or Dad

I thought it would be funny and cute!!
