Reuse bottles from last child?

Is it ok to do this? I've heard yes and no. DD is only 21/2 so its not like they're 10yr old bottles...I'd jsut hate to throw them out if I can sterilize and reuse!!

Re: Reuse bottles from last child?

  • I plan to.  I reused bottles from my sister when my daughter was born, and she's fine!

  • Thats a good question.  I was wondering the same thing.  My son is 3 but now they have all the bottles that are BPA free and Im assuming that is better. I dont know what to do.
  • I am reusing the bottles but buying new nipples.  Nipples have a relatively short life and can get brittle after too many boilings, so I decided to just be on the safe side and get new nipples.  I have a mix of BPA free and non BPA free bottles (the big BPA thing came out right around the time DS was born and BPA free were hard to find) - I never worried too much about it as I never heated the bottles with breastmilk or formula actually in the bottle.

  • I would reuse the bottles, but replace the nipples.

  • I'm not really worried about BPA...it was in bottles all those years before now and a majority of the population is still alive so it really doesn't concern me. I think its jsut another thing baby companies use to get new parents all hyped up and worried so they'll buy their oh so safe product.  I'm just going to run DD's bottles/nipples thorugh the dishwasher and call it good!
  • I plan to reuse the bottles and nipples.  We have enough other items to purchase (like furniture and a new swing) that I don't need to add another item to the list.
  • I took all my non-BPA free Dr. Browns back to Babys r us and they gave me a credit and I got all new BPA free ones......I returned 20 and was able to get 16........Good deal!!!

  • I think as long as u boil them its safe. Thats what im gonna do.
  • I'm reusing mine however I'll buy all new nipples.
