Playtex Ventaire - Leaky Bottles

My sister warned me about them leaking. I just didn't think it would happen so soon. What a freak'n mess =/

Off to call Playtex for some replacements.....

Re: Playtex Ventaire - Leaky Bottles

  • Ugh..they suck!  I went back to Drop Ins after only one day of VentAire.  I ended up giving all of mine away...

  • The only time ours leak is when DD bends the nipple and then the bottle leaks. Let me know how it goes with getting replacements...
  • Ours hasn't leaked yet.  I heard that they can leak if you mix formula in them, but when I posted about that a few days ago, people said they've never had that problem.  Is the silicone vent thing on the plastic bottom part correctly?  Good luck getting replacements!

  • We bought some to try instead of Dr. Brown's with 18 parts.... I HATED them. I went out and bought the bigger Dr. Brown's. I'd rather wash all those parts than deal with the mess from the Ventaires.

  • I use these but I've never had a problem w/ them leaking. I will note that I use them with Dr. Browns nipples, though. Where are they leaking? I think they are great  bottles. My one complaint is that the measurements on the bottle have almost completely worn off so you can't tell how many ounces are in there.
  • Well, they JUST started leaking yesterday =/

I just got off the phone with Playtex and they are sending replacement valves but said that *3* months IS the time they recommend buying new replacements.

Annoying. These are the only bottles that fit the nipples she will take - won't even take the Playtex ventaire nipples - we have to buy the Similac to-go ones from Ebay. How annoying is that???

My sister said she finally started using cheapo Gerber bottles so I think I'm going to try those. At least they won't leak.

  • We use the ventaire's exclusively...when I shake the formula it does leak, but I just wrap a dishtowel around it before shaking to keep it from going everywhere.  After that, no leaks.

They leak at the bottom - where the valve is. Even when it's dry and the seal is good.
