Hello everyone!! I am Ashley and I am new at the nest, if it is anything like the knot.com I will love it!!
I wanted to give and intro and ask for some parenting opinions... I have a 7 month old baby.. Emma and she is all of a sudden waking up 3-4 times a night. Shes not hungry, she dont want to play, all she does is cry untill we go in a comfort her. We thought it was teething but she has both of her bottom teeth already in. Could it be teething agian?
We have tried everything to get her to sleep all nigt, rice bottles, bath, story, even when she is really fussy before bed ime we have given her tylenol... nothing works. Any suggestions on getting a 7 month old to sleep all night long?
Re: 7 Month old not sleeping :(
Could be more teething. Has she started doing anything "new" lately? Sometime when they hit some developmental milestones they have trouble sleeping for a while but it goes back to all night after a while.
I would just comfort her as much as you can without picking her up if possible and let her put herself back to sleep. When you let them get up, feed them, etc. you're rewarding the behavior and hey - being up with mommy and daddy is definately more fun than sleeping!
Welcome to the 6-9 month wakeful period. It sucks asss, but there's hope. Just in the last week have we finally ended 3 months of pure hell.
There's not much that can be done. You can try putting LO to bed earlier, but it's not a guarentee. They're learning so much during that time, and they sometimes have teeth trying to pop through- their brains are firing off millions of messages at once. Hang in there. It gets better eventually. GL
