So remember when I posted about no cable or internet.....well last week we bought a antenna (spell?) and we were able to get a few channels, like 4 of them and TONs of spanish, chinese and korean channels!  I was okay, just as long as I got the CW (90210 and Melrose Place).  Well my MIL couldn't handle it anymore, so she offered to help starting paying for the cable.  (Well, well, when we did have cable and she knew it was super expensive she never offered, but now she wants to help.)  So we are going with directv, basic cable and dvr box for $40 a month.  great deal.  Still no internet, but I could careless.

I would have, too. Now that I have DVR, I don't know how I ever lived without it.

Side note: Beware of Directv and their contracts. I dont know how it works where you are but in my case I ordered an extra DVR and they added and extra 12 months to my contract (no need for my signature, the fact that I received and used the equipment was enough). Now I want to switch companies and they want to charge me for the time I have left on my contract... scammers!!!

Its a 2 year contract.  So if we cancelled, we will have to pay cancellation fee.  Its good to know now if we do add something, that there could be an extension to our contract.

And yes, we had Direct tv too and they totally screwed us!  We were suppose to be locke in at $29 per month but they said I never sent in the rebate form. Never told me about a rebate form, nor did I receive one in the mail. So then we tried to cancel and ended up owing them almost $400!

its awesome you have cable!! i really couldnt live without watching my soap operas in spanish!! lol :P
