Minnesota Babies

The Little Gym

Anyone ever been to The Little Gym? https://www.thelittlegym.com/Pages/default.aspx

Just curious about it and if you know how much it costs to go to these classes. I think it looks a little neat and I might be interested in bringing DS here to give us something to do during the week and for him to interact with other babies/kids.

Re: The Little Gym

  • I tried it out when my daughter was 11 months old which put us in the 10-16 month on class. My daughter wasn't walking yet so we didn't get much out of the class. Try a free trial class and see how you like it. It is a great way to get out of the house and do activities with your baby (as well as hang with other moms). I think it was $200-$300 for the semester.

  • we have a coupon for a free trial class...but we never went. It's over 300 dollars for something like 17 weeks of classes. We pay less than that for a full year of ECFE.

We're signing K up for a parent-child gymnastics class when she's old enough...and even going to a regular gymnastics gym is cheaper than the little gym. (I think the equivalent # of weeks at the gym is around 200 dollars).

  • I nannied for a family that had their kids in it. Super expensive! You can break it out into payments, but still! I'd look into community ed or ecfe first.
  • We had my older DD in it for one session last spring and loved it.  My DD was older - 2 1/2 and turned 3 right around when the classes ended.  It is expensive though.  We have done ECFE classes with both girls and love it and have made great friends though that class.  YOu can also look into some of the gymnastics places and see what they offer for the little ones.  I know Mini Hops in Minnetonka has classes for the little ones and if I recall, its less expensive than Little Gym.  I know there is another place in New Hope too.  I am sure you can find other options that would cost less.  Having said that - I do think the cost is well worth it.

  • DD loves it.  We're in our second semester.  Definitely go to a free trial class and see if you like it.
