Mattress for crib

I bought the https://www.target.com/Kolcraft-Pediatric-1000-Crib-Mattress/dp/B001MZMVUO/ref=br_1_3?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&searchView=grid5&searchNodeID=12844991&node=12844991&searchRank=price&searchPage=1&searchSize=30&id=Kolcraft%20Pediatric%201000%20Crib%20Mattress   I noticed that it has a gap between the crib and the mattress. I need some advice, I don't want to use it since its unsafe in the crib. I have yet to let my son sleep in the crib because of this. I can't find my receipt, It did fit in the other crib I had but I was unhappy with that crib and replaced it with the Baby Mod Candence.

 If you have the baby mod candence crib, what mattress are you using? Any suggestions?

    We have the Baby Mod Cadence, and we got this mattress. It fits with no more than a finger width gap.

     ETA: I just looked at the dimensions of your mattress, and they seem to be the same as mine. So I'm not sure why it's not fitting your crib properly. It is ok to have a slight gap (if you can fit two fingers in between mattress and crib, they say you should get a different mattress), but nothing more than that.
