They found protein in my urine and she saw that my feet and legs were swollen so she is keeping an eye on me. I have an appointment on Monday with my specialist and it stresses me out.
My OB doesn't want me going to Mexico to a wedding, but went ahead and prescribed me Tamiflu and gave me special viral masks to wear on the plane.
Then I was putting Emma down for her nap and on my way back downstairs fell down the stairs and now I want to cry and my back hurts.
The baby has been kicking like crazy so much that it makes me nauseated and I have had about 4 hours of sleep since Monday.
But he is growing he is measuring at 27 1.2 weeks, is head down (Emma was NEVER EVER head down at any point in my pregnancy) and his heart beat is strong. My C/s will be on Jan 18th unless something makes them move it sooner (which she said was very very possible) Yay for the good things.
Oh and my house is dirty. :-(
Re: Discouraging Ob appointment. today sucks..
Ugh. Sorry about the protein.
Are you really going to wear the mask on the plane?
So sorry. That is discouraging, it's so early for protein. Do you have a history of pre-e? (Sorry, I can't see badges or blinkies here, so I don't know if you have any sort of premie badge) GL with everything.
So, he is just keeping an eye on you? No suggestions??? Man, this is one of my biggest peeves with OBs- they are all about treating the problem, but hardly ever about prevention.
I had elevated BP and started swelling around 28 weeks with Lily. My MW immediately put me on a high protein meal plan (70 plus grams a day), told me to get more rest and cut my stress. It is hard and you feel like you are eating all the time, but it WORKS. My BP was down to normal and swelling manageable in 2 weeks and stayed that way till the end when I had Lily at 43 weeks. This is a form of the "Brewer's Diet" if you are interested in googling for more information.
Other things you can do:
Avoid processed foods that are high in sodium and salt your food to taste with good quality salts such as sea or kosher. Don't cut all salt out of your diet- it is important.
If you haven't already, cut out all caffeine.
Eat lots of leafy greens.
Get more rest and try to cut some stress out of your life. I know this is impossible, but do your best. It is worth a try to prevent complications later.
Drink lots of water- more than you think you can stand.
Take probiotics
Swimming helps with swell and generally makes me feel calmer. Yoga also can help with stress.
If you are still in pain, I highly suggest you see a chiropractor.
GL!
Edit- I know she also used this for pre-eclamptic patients- just upped their protein intake to 120. Even if they put you on bedrest, I highly suggest you consider it. I know I felt SO much better when I changed my eating habits.
doesn't it seem like you stumble on the steps at the WORST time? I did the same thing when pregnant. I was trying to hurry out the door and ran upstairs to get something. I fell coming down (only on my butt) but I couldn't stop crying.
apparently it was about more than the tumble.
I'm sorry your day has been sucky! Those are sucky things, but the baby is healthy and measuring right on time!
Do you have anyone, a family membere/friend, who may be willing to come tidy up your house?

I am so sorry. I had the same thing happen with my son and I was induced because of it.
I take it you did not develop pre-e with your first?
ETA: Sorry, I see you already answered this above. Hang in there, you can do this!
Oh Jenn I'm sorry
We're going to Mexico in two weeks and my OB was totally ok with it... she pretty much said "Look... it's in our community, everywhere already, and we know it. I've already treated two of my pregnant patients with it here in the office. You're no more at risk on that airplane than you are in every single store you go into, and there's no point in stressing about it. We have tamiflu, worst case scenario is you catch it, you come in at the very first sign of symptoms, and we treat you. And you'll be fine."
She's right, I've already had 3 close friends catch the flu in our own community and it's not like I'm avoiding the malls or grocery stores. Don't let the plane stress you out unnecessarily ok? Wear the mask if you have to but don't let it get you all crazed! It is what it is, and you'll have a safety backup just in case with you.
Get some sleep girl! This 2nd baby has given me THE worst insomnia, I have to take half of a unisom every single night to get my 4-6 hours of sleep (before waking up and having trouble again) and I've been reassured numerous times it's perfectly ok and safe during pregnancy. No sleep is worse! You poor thing
I know how hard it is w/ a toddler at home, I hope your back feels better (get a massage, maybe you can sleep during that? lol!) and the protein doesn't get out of control. Aw, I just want to hug you!
Just wanted to add that many people say that face masks are useless once they become moist from the humidity of your breath. If it makes you feel better to wear it, then do it, but I wouldn't worry too much about it.
We just back from Florida including Disney World and I'm sure we were exposed to everything under the sun. You can't live in a bubble so take appropriate precautions like washing your hands, sanitizing, etc. and enjoy.
I'm sorry to hear about the possible pre-e and I hope that you can get some much needed R&R. If you lived closer, I'd give you the massage appointment I have booked at 5 tonight and I'd come watch your LO.
