clock in nursery?

This is probably a really stupid question, so I apologize in advance.

I am guessing we'll want some sort of clock in the girls' room to keep track of time.  I think we're going to try those Itzbeen timers to keep track of changings/feedings, and I think they keep the time.  I wonder if those will suffice?

Do you have a clock in your baby's room?  If so, what kind?  Digital, wall clock, etc?

We just have a wall clock that I can see from where I nurse him before he goes down for the night (all other nursings I do in front of the tv )  I used it more in the beginning to track how long he was nursing.  Plus- I have a thing with time...I always NEED to know what time it is (I even have one in the bathroom!!)

As far as the itzbeen timers- I remember asking about those when I was pregnant and the majority of people said they didn't really like or use them as often as they thought.  Although almost everyone with multiples thought they were useful.  We didn't use one with Jake but I think we would've had to use them in the beginning if we had more than one.

Yeah, I have this thing with needing to know the time, too.  I found a little iHome thing for really cheap, and that is why I was asking.  I am leaning toward buying it and setting it on the table next to the glider.  If I don't end up liking it/using it in there, I can always take it to work with me when I go back.

And I have been going back and forth on the Itzbeen timers.  It does seem like moms with multiples have found them useful, and I have no clue if we'll feel the same.  I registered for two, so if we get them, cool.  If not, maybe I'll just keep a notebook in there to log stuff.

I just saw a segment on Dr. Oz the other day saying that if you have a digital get one with a red display b/c the red lights don't mess with your sleep rhythm

With multiples I could maybe see how those itzbeen things might be helpful to keep track of things but personally I think I'd find them a pain in the butt... just one more gizmo to mess with... paper and pencil works just fine and you don't have to figure out how to operate it or change it's batteries when they run at out... just my 2 cents... 

But a clock on the wall or on a dresser (somewhere you can easily see it from many angles) is a great idea for keeping time with feedings and such... I wouldn't want anything I needed to physically keep track of and use my hands to pick up to see what time it was... again, just my 2 cents.

This is what I was afraid of.  I really don't want more gadgets to mess with.  Good to know the ol' fashioned paper and pencil works.  I have heard people say the Itzbeens are nice because you don't have to turn on a light to keep track of stuff, but I am guessing the nightlight will work fine with a notebook.

Yes, you'll want a clock for the reasons you listed.  We have a Sony clock radio thing that plays CDs.  It just sits on the floor between the cribs.  Definitely get a clock that has a digital display; a wall clock won't be useful in the dark, and you will not want to turn a light on to see the time.

I bought a clock radio that I could dock a little ipod on.  We put his baby CDs on the little ipod so we could have it in his room.  It gives off enough light to be good for a night light, too.

We ended up getting a little ipod dock with a clock and radio.  It sits on a little table next to her rocker.  It is wonderful for night feedings!

We have a personalized wall clock that we got off of ebay. I loved it when he was still feeding in the middle of the night so I knew what time it was because at 3am, you have no clue!!

We wound up moving my CD digital alarm clock into their room when the super-cheap CD player we got bit the dust.  We use it to play their bedtime CD.  I got a basic digital alarm clock for my room to replace it and it would work well too--big bright numbers. 

I thought about getting the Itzbeen timers, but I decided not to because they don't have any memory.  When our babies were little, I wanted to keep track of when and how much they ate, diaper counts, etc.  (This is also helpful if you have other people helping take care of your girls.)  We just went the old school pen, paper, and clipboard route!
