Baby Showers

What to do with the cards?

I had my shower this weekend and have a huge stack of very sweet and very cute baby shower/congratulations cards.  I was thinking of using them for some sort of collage or art project, but I'm not sure what to do with them.  I'm not much of a scrapbooker, and don't really have the patience to make one for my whole pregnancy at this point, and think it would be a little silly to make one JUST for my shower.

Any ideas of creative things to do with baby shower cards?

Re: What to do with the cards?

  • This isn't really decorative or creative, but my husband's aunt has a fancy keepsake box for her son. In it, she has every card she received at her baby shower, all the cards from his baptism and first birthday, and little momentos like his hospital bracelet, the little hat he wore in the hospital, his homecoming outfit, ultrasound pictures, etc. It's not something you could display, but I think it's really sweet and I loved looking through it.

  • We got a lot of cute cards from our wedding that I really wanted to do something with so I took them and used them all like scrapbook paper in my wedding scrapbook.  Like if I had two or three that matched I arranged those on one page with a picture or two that I like that matched and so on.  Every page of my scrapbook has at least one card....or program or invitation to showers..along with pictures.

  • I just saw this online today and this is what we'll probably do.  It's called a blessing ring.

Sorry, can't make it clicky on a Mac!  :)  It seems really easy to do, ends up looking cute, and you can put it away if you want to or hang it on a doorknob, etc.

Let us know what you decide to do!

  • sorry guess I am not very creative I am going to put them in a album that is what I did with my daughters cards.
  • or if any of them match your nursery theme, I've seen them framed (with a basic matting behind them) and hung on the wall...They look really cute when you get a bunch together in coordinating frames!
  • All of the kid's cards up to and including their 5th birthday are in a box (their own box).  I have things in there...like their first paper from school, first baby spoon, favorite toy as an infant and for my older kids...graduation cap, etc.
  • That's a really cute idea.  I don't know what I would do with it though.  Part of me is just tempted to recycle them, LOL.
