Hello all
I had my NT scan yesterday where we found out we are having twins. We had already had on u/s where we were told there was only a singleton, so this came as a huuuuuge shock. Both babies look healthy and they already were hitting each other.
Is there any advice out there that you mothers wish you had before you had the multiples? Im freaking out a bit, but shouldnt be too surprised considering there are twins on both sides.
Re: New here!
Congrats & Welcome!! How exciting!
This board will be helpful for your questions, concerns, comments as you go through this multiples pg! Many of us will advocate for you to go get a copy of Dr. Barbara Luke's book entitled When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets, or Quads. It gives great guidelines for handling a multiples pg, dietary info, etc.
Congrats and welcome! It really is shocking to hear there are TWO, isn't it? We also had an early u/s and thought we had one baby. Two weeks later we found out there were 2 babies : )
Dr. Luke's book is pretty much the book recommendation around here, especially for her insight into doctors, hospitals, research, etc. The biggest thing that I think we took from it was the advice to find a maternal fetal medicine specialist (MFM or perinatologist). My OB's office didn't even think I needed one, but I pushed for the referral and am SO glad I did. We have only seen the MFM for a consult and for our 20-week u/s, but he gave us much more info and I felt more confident in his knowledge. Now my OB is handling the regular ultrasounds and we won't see the MFM unless needed.
