Kids fashion question--what shoes?

I got Bella the houndstooth shorts from gap today, with the polka dot tights and the black shirt with dalmation on it.

They are these shorts:

I also got a plain black shirt to go with the outfit. Do you think she should wear black boots or ballet flats with it?

That is super cute.  I love houndstooth.

I'd go with black flats/maryjanes.  I'm not big into boots unless it's super snowy, I worry about my kid's feet getting too hot.

I'd go with boots b/c of the shorts.  They look like they run pretty short, so I think boots would look best.

Now that it's getting cold (though I don't know where you live) I would do boots.
