Playtex Drop Ins Question

I use the Playtex dropins and love them. BUT, I don't love the fact that I have to use another container to mix the forumla because I never really know how much is 2 or 4 oz due to the fact that the liner crinkles. So I use one of those Medela cylinders (to hold BM) and put 2 oz of water in that, then put the forumla in it, shake it, then pour it in the bottle. Surely there is a better way. Also, because LO is now taking 4 oz instead of 2, I have to do the process twice. Suggestions?

I make a quart at a time and you can heat the drop in with a cup of hot water

There are markings on the side of the liner letting you know how many OZ there is.

this is the reason why i decided not to use these bottles...we tried with the expandable liners and the markings on them are not accurate either..i measured out in a measuring cup and it was off by a half ounce or so i think..whereas Dr Browns bottles  ( what we have used since birth ) are accurate...I dont get it and I am wondering if other people realize the liner & bottle markings are not accurate.

You are making it way too hard. Even with the crinkles, when you put the water in, it should open up the liner all of the way and then you can add the formula and shake.

They are accurate enough for me. If DD was a premie or had trouble gaining weight, I might take a different view.

I have also found that oz markers on the side of the bottle are not accurate. I just scoop the formula in the liner, then use a dr brown's bottle to measure the water. I just dump the water in the liner, screw the top on, and shake it up. Working well for us so far! The one thing I do not like is that after DD has started drinking, I cannot tell how much she has consumed b/c the liner shrinks and I can't tell how much is left in teh bottle.

Screw open the top and it generally lets the air in and the liner expands again.

I'm really not worried if it's off by a half an ounce either way. Maybe you have a different situation but I use the markings on the bottle and/or liner.

I would look into buying the Dr. Brown's formula mixer.  I EP and then supplement with formula due to low supply and have loved it.  I make up in the morning what I need for the day.
