Bigger shield?

How did you know you had to get a bigger shield? My nipples are not normally large but when I am pumping they get very large and somewhat sore when pumping. Thanks!

I had the same problem - my nipples fit into the flanges fine at the start, but by the end of the pumping session they were larger and rubbed the sides alot.  Larger flanges definitely helped.
