I didn't figure us to be ones to have a one year old that we've never left overnight, but it sure looks like we're headed in that direction! Neither of us want to leave her overnight yet...we even have a hard time with just a date night since we feel like we don't get enough of her during the week (since we both work).

Re: Clicky Poll: When did you first leave DC overnight?
I voted even though we haven't done it yet. Hope you don'e mind
I have a feeling it will be in August. We were invited to a wedding (C is too) and at first, I was going to not bring her, but I don't think it will be that fun and she will be a distraction for me.
So, then I think we could leave her for our anniversary (Aug 6) or DH's birthday (Aug 31)
We haven't yet. I feel the same as you, we don't see her enough as it is so I feel like I want to spend all the time I can with her.
That said, I really do want to leave her overnight just to get the first one out of the way, but it seems silly to leave her with someone else when I'm not going anywhere....

I feel the same way! I didn't expect this to be us...but it is. Right now I don't think it's fair to leave him with anyone overnight because he needs the boob at least once, sometimes twice to get back to sleep.
Faith was just under a year old when we went to the city for a concert and stayed the night. We ended up getting home pretty early the next day so I could nurse her.?
We didn't have a weekend away (4 days) until she was 18 months, but mostly because I nursed until she was 15 months and I didn't want to go for longer than 1 night without nursing. ?
The first time we left Ty overnight (without either one of us) was when Jake was born...and it was HAAAAAAARD. I cried when DH showed the nurse a picture of Ty.
Ty recently spent two nights with Grandma and Grandpa (so about 27 months old) and I was definitely ready but I also had J-dub to look after...
I am dreading Ty's first day of summer school- I can't fathom dropping him off and leaving.

Looking back, I can't believe we did this, but we left Carter overnight when he was maybe 10 weeks old. He wasn't STTN, and I was nursing. I had bottles pumped in advance, and we left him with my parents so we could go out for our anniversary.
After that, he was maybe 13 months the next time, and I left him with my parents for a weekend while I went to Tahoe for a bachelorette party. He's since had a couple of weekends with my in-laws.
We have yet to leave Spencer overnight and he's 10 months old. The issue there is that it's difficult for us to find someone willing to take both of them overnight, and there's no point to sending Spencer away overnight but keeping his big brother.
