Lovenox... Dumb question.

They told me I can't but... Is it possible to poke LO or anywhere near during an injection? I am on 100mg twice a day and the needle itself is longer than the 80mg I started with. Of course I am pinching fatty areas. It is just weird that sometimes after I inject she kicks like crazy there like she is mad or something. Dumb question I know but I wanted to ask anyway!

I started lovenox at 20 weeks and within 12 hours of the first shot I felt a ton of consistant movement after not really feeling anything.  I asked and the ob says it is just a coincidence...we can't poke the baby.

Thank you. I was sure it wasn't possible but this is still new to me! I think just the idea of sticking a needle anywhere near my pregnant belly is just odd.

im on lovenox twice a day as well.  my son moves alot sometimes too when i do my injections.  more with my night time shot.

Nope, can't poke the baby which seems pretty incredible at the end when there's a lot of baby and not a lot of room.

No, it's pretty much the same as how your h can't poke the baby during sex either.  It could be because since they sting when you do it (plus I'm always a little tense when I do mine) maybe your reaction is causing the baby to react.

I asked my OB the same question and he said absolutely impossible but that if it worried me I can inject into love handles or outer thighs as well.

Just think of it this way.....if you could poke your baby in the uterus with a little lovenox needle, then they wouldn't have to use those super long giant needles to do amnios.

as the PP said, I do the love handles. My belly is just getting so sore from the shots these days.

By the way....how are you doing? Are you out of the hospital now?
