Still feeling okay- taking the nausea medication twice daily. Not sure what will happen if/when the doctor tells me to discontinue it! My first ultrasound is TOMORROW, and I cannot wait!!!!!
QOTD: You're supposed to save money for the baby's arrival? LOL! Well, we haven't been eating as much or out hardly at all because of the m/s, so I bet that's helped! Oh, and I haven't bought any clothing because I'm waiting to buy maternity, which I don't need yet... so that's good, too!
So excited/nervous for my first ultrasound wednesday!
QOTD: We started putting money aside before I was even pregnant. We still have a large chunk of money we had received from our wedding so we put a portion of that into our "baby fund" and also our income tax refund went into it. Any money I find in my husband's pants/shorts when I do laundry goes into 2 piggy banks I bought for baby awhile ago. Any loose change I have goes into them, too - it adds up! Not having credit card debt helps, too.

Born at 34 weeks weighing 7 lbs & measuring 18.5 inches
QOTD: We're frantically trying to pay off all of our credit card debt. If things go as planned we will be done in February. I'm also in line to get a promotion at work, so hopefully everything falls into place!
QOTD: What things are you doing to start saving money for when baby gets here?
We put a couple hundred away a month. We're also paying down debt, however as of this month we're stopping large debt payments to save for Xmas!! then we'll resume after Xmas.. BLAH....but it needs to be done!! 2 kids in daycare isnt cheap and we can use all the money we can get!! So, hopefully by february we'll start putting the baby's room together...I'm due in early april but my 1st DD was 4wks early, and they say if your 1st was early your 2nd is likely to be so I have to be prepared by the end of Feb early march!! Thats not to far away when you start thinking about the finances and the time you need to save an appropriate amount to furnish a room!
We are both saving money each month into a special "baby" account. Between us it will be 500.00 a month. Not a whole lot, but its a start. We are also bring more conscious of what we spend our money on.
DUE DATE CHANGE: My due date is now April 23rd - moved from April 21st.
Thanks!

QOTD: What things are you doing to start saving money for when baby gets here?
Saving money? What's that? We haven't really changed anything since being pg with DD but we've been living fairly modestly since then so there's not much we need to change at this point. We may have to adjust a bit when we have 2 in daycare though!
QOTD: Well, we don't really eat out much, we go home for lunch, and we don't go shopping very often (except for groceries), so there's very little to trim in the extra expense department.
We are shooting to pay off DH's car before baby gets here so that we have one less payment each month. So far so good. We've paid off $2600 of it in the past two months. I think he has about $8k to go. We have no credit card debt...got that completely off our plate a few months ago. After DH's car, we will work on my car...I think I have just over $8k left.
We have a decent savings account with over 6 months of expenses.
I know family will help us out a lot with buying baby stuff, so we're not specifically saving there.
I'll probably set up a college savings fund shortly after the baby is born.
Then there's the dreaded childcare costs. We'll need to sit down and figure that out very soon.
I am due April 30th 2010. I am very excited along with my husband! This is our first and things so far have been goood. I am one not to be sick EVER... so now that i have morning sickness.... i am in bed and just trying to eat somthing!!!
Tomorrow is my first ultrasound and I am excited and nervous it's a 2 and I am counting down the hours now... I have started taking Zantac for the nausea (w/ docs permission & rec) and I feel 100 times better!!!!
QOTD: We have paid off all credit card debt and now all we owe is on our TV (we financed b/c it was interest free) and that will be paid off next month after that it's just the house, DH's truck and bills yay!!!! The plan is DH will keep paying all the bills like he has for the past 2 years and my paycheck will be used for Christmas gifts and baby furniture No baby savings acct yet. We are using the extra we have to finish renovations to our house and we are planning to add a master BR/BA asap as well So much to do!!!
We started living on DH's income about a year ago and have been saving mine for the baby and just to see if we could afford to live on one income after the baby. So far so good.
DH and I have been struggling with this for sure. We have been pretty diligent since we got a BFP about saving 300ish each month, but I know we have got to do a lot more budgeting for childcare. Such a bummer. Does anyone else just wish they could stay home?

QOTD: What things are you doing to start saving money for when baby gets here? we're not going out to eat as much, and staying in more on weekends. we had a couple trips planned this fall already (a wedding and a weekend trip to Denver ) after that we plan to really buckle down w/spending. I am lucky my aunt had a baby last yr and is done having kids so shes giving me almost all of her baby stuff

Update: So tired! And feeling like I'm getting huge, especially after meals...and eating just tires me out, so then I rest, which doesn't make me feel any fitter.
QOTD: We started a "future fund" (code for baby to be fund) when we started talking about getting pregnant and put a little money in there each month to help supplement the salary I won't be getting while I'm on leave. Also, we (well, DH) also keep an insanely detailed budget in excel and track all of our spending. When you see where your money actually goes each month, it's easier to determine the areas you could or should cut back on...it's so easy to spend HUNDREDS of dollars eating out and not even realize it...and so rewarding (in a dorky, incredibly frugal way) to see the money you have left over at the end of the month when you cut back!
